Course Description


      French IV reinforces the skills and concepts introduced in French I-III.  Students will use conversation and the study of literature to gain proficiency in speaking, writing, listening, and reading.  Short stories will help reading comprehension and vocabulary building. Cultural awareness will be presented through a variety of activities and will represent a diversity of francophone cultures.  We will also discuss the history and development of France. We will study from several literary pieces including Notre Dame de Paris, Ces enfants de ma vie and various contes de fee (fairy tales).  There will be a strong focus on student interaction and participation in this course and students are expected to speak in French and continue to challenge themselves everyday.  Your enrollment in this course should signify your dedication to learning the French language.
