Why Study Spanish?

While studying Spanish can certainly be of benefit for meeting graduation and college entrance requirements, there are many other reasons why it is important to studying the language.

1.  Future Work

Many careers such as business, education, health care, social work, sales, communications and others, now recommend, if not require, Spanish.  Give yourself more employability by speaking a second language.

2.  Friendships

With almost 30% of the U.S. population speaking Spanish as a first or second language, many of our neighbors, classmates and colleagues are Spanish speakers.  Why not reach out and make more friends?

3.  Family

Many young people come from Spanish-speaking families or homes, but lack the skills to communicate well or read and write in their own language.  Bridge the gap between generations, and give yourself a great skill that will last a lifetime!

4.  Fun

With the world becoming more closely interconnected every day, our country has influenced and been influenced by other cultures around the world.  Just look at pop culture and you’ll see many examples of how this has taken place.  Spanish music, television, movie stars, films and athletes are all a part of our culture today.
