Course Description


      Spanish IV is an advanced Spanish course, focusing on the development of speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills in Spanish, as well as cultural understanding through conversation, discussion and writing.  This course will provide a study of the Spanish language and culture, building on principles learned in Spanish III.  It will also include a literature component with samples of both Spanish and Latin American authors.  As a part of Spanish IV, students will prepare for and take the SAT II Subject Test for Spanish.  The class is designed to increase students’ proficiency in all areas of language development through communicative and interactive class activities as well as written expression, oral presentations, current events and literature.  Students are expected to speak Spanish at all times.  Homework completion and active, meaningful class participation are essential elements of this class.  Your enrollment in this course should indicate a firm dedication to learning the Spanish language and culture.

Spanish I, II and III
