Dominican Republic Immersion Trip
Overview

Every year during April vacation, 10 students and 2 faculty members travel to the Western part of the Dominican Republic for 1 week of service learning. The trip is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors.

Throughout the year the group meets once per week to discuss the history and culture of the Dominican Republic, learn Spanish and Haitian creole, and organize fundraising programs. Before, during, and after the trip, students learn about the realities of global poverty and what we can do internationally to help our fellow humans.

Students can apply to go on this trip at the end of the previous school year. This year's trip will be April 14-21, 2007.
